She sat across from me with that look I know so well…

Smart. Trying hard. Exhausted.

Trying to figure out her ‘thing’. Her ‘path‘. Her ‘one true calling’.

She’s a multi-talented actress, teacher, artist, and mother. A powerhouse.

She’d done a lot – and done it well.

But none of it felt like ‘the one’. She wanted to create something that was close to her soul.

She thought maybe she was missing something, or there was something wrong with her. Maybe she needed to choose. Focus. Niche. Maybe she just hadn’t ‘found herself’ yet.

And then I said…

“What if your one true thing is that you’re brilliant at many things?”

Silence.

The kind of silence I’ve become accustomed to when something lands deeply.

After the coaching session I sent her a video to watch.

A day later she sent me this message…

“I watched it this morning and it made me cry. This idea changes the way I think about myself. I feel you get me and really see me, and that’s so encouraging.”

That’s the moment she realised:

She’s a Multipotentialite. A Jackie of all trades-and master of many things.

And maybe she didn’t need to cut pieces of herself off to be taken seriously. To succeed. To belong.

The work I do is deeply personal. It’s emotional. It’s practical too…because when you stop trying to fit a narrow mold, your real work begins to take shape.

That’s the coaching I do.

Quiet. Deep. Real.

With people who’ve got range. And heart. And soul. And a long list of things they care about.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, trying to force yourself into one thing, maybe it’s time to honour your wiring instead.

Watch the video…

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below…

(And please pass this post on if someone comes to mind).
